Temperature is a Promise
Not all pharmaceutical products are the same, and neither are their temperature requirements. At LEMAN, we manage the full spectrum: cold chain transport between +2°C and +8°C for vaccines, biologics and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs); controlled room temperature (CRT) solutions between +15°C and +25°C for finished goods and OTC medicine; and frozen or deep-frozen solutions down to -20°C and -80°C for cell and gene therapies or clinical trial samples.
Critically, these ranges are validated commitments. Every container and thermal box we use is tested and qualified for the specific product, route, and shipment duration, using best-in-class packaging providers and pharma-grade equipment.
Monitoring at Every Step
Visibility is non-negotiable in our supply chain. LEMAN deploys GPS and IoT-based tracking systems that monitor shipment location, temperature, humidity, shock and light exposure in real time. For clinical trial logistics specifically, preconditioned passive temperature-controlled shipper containers come with integrated dataloggers, providing 24/7/365 monitoring and in-transit alerts.
The numbers make the case for continuous oversight: industry data shows that 10% of all pharmaceutical shipments sustain damage in transit, and 12% of temperature-sensitive pharma shipments involve temperature excursions that require corrective measures. Each excursion means a reship, doubled emissions, added cost, and — most importantly — a delay in getting medicine to patients.
