LEMAN at TPM 2026: Preparing for the transpacific contract season

LEMAN participated in the TPM26 Conference in Long Beach, one of the most influential events in the global container shipping industry.

During the conference, the LEMAN team held more than 35 meetings with ocean carriers, customers and key service providers, strengthening partnerships and gathering insights ahead of the upcoming contract negotiations.

A market shaped by uncertainty

This year’s discussions confirmed that uncertainty continues to influence the ocean freight market. Geopolitical developments, tariff changes and supply–demand imbalances mean conditions can shift rapidly.

Developments in the Middle East, including the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, were also part of the conversations, as carriers assess potential impacts on routing, bunker costs and operational risks.

The Transpacific Eastbound contract season has now begun, with negotiations expected to continue through April.

Strategic supply chains

Many customers are increasingly focusing on resilience, diversification and long-term supply chain strategies.

LEMAN’s approach continues to focus on strong carrier relationships and a multi-carrier strategy, helping ensure flexible and reliable transport solutions.

Another key theme at TPM was the growing role of AI and advanced analytics in improving forecasting, operational efficiency and faster responses to market changes.
