Strikes in France expected to disrupt transport

Traffic disruptions in France due to strikes

On September 10th, 2025, France is expected to face major disruptions due to the nationwide campaign “Bloquons tout” (“Block everything”). Trade unions and other groups have called for blockades of roads, railway stations, and airports.

For the transport sector, there is a significant risk of disruption to supply chains. Road freight in particular may be affected as CFDT, France’s largest trade union confederation and representative of a large share of the country’s truck drivers, is participating in the campaign. Air and rail traffic may also be impacted by delays or cancellations.

Authorities are preparing for widespread unrest, and several unions have already announced a general strike on September 18th.

LEMAN is closely monitoring the situation. The team has taken measures to minimize the impact on our customers’ flows. We remain in close contact with our partners in France and will provide updates as the situation develops.

Implications for our customers may include:

  • Potential delays in road freight to, from, and within France
  • Possible disruptions in air and rail transport
  • Temporary rerouting of shipments may be required

We advise customers to plan with additional lead times and to remain in close contact with their LEMAN representatives.
