Potential US East Coast Port Strikes and Impact on Shipments

LEMAN is closely monitoring the potential for strikes at key U.S. East Coast and Gulf Coast ports, which are anticipated to begin as early as October 1st, 2024. The strikes, led by the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), could significantly disrupt port operations, leading to delays and increased costs for shipments.

At LEMAN, we are working proactively with our customers to mitigate these risks. Our team is already exploring alternative shipping routes, including shifting some cargo to West Coast ports and expediting deliveries where possible.

We encourage customers to reach out to their LEMAN contact for more detailed guidance and to discuss contingency plans for minimizing the impact on their supply chains.

We will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.

Kind regards,
LEMAN
